Awards!

It's Monday, stormy-looking, and getting late. A perfect opportunity for not being too deep here.

Thanks to Melonie at Wandering Quail Road, we received an award... for leaving comments on her blog. It took a while to get around to thanking her for it, but I finally remembered how to get the award to the sidebar and then promised we'd pass along the award to others in timely fashion.

That was ten days ago.

And I just noticed I had changed Melonie's name to Melodie.

Sheesh.

Anyway, we'd like to pass this commentin' award along and show our appreciation to a few folks:

1. Melonie herself for commentin' (and for being patient)
2. Caution Flag of The Human Race 600
4. The Mind of a Mom of The Mind of a Mom

Thanks for letting us know you're reading and hope you stick with us!

While I'm in the giving spirit and procrastinating on the kitchen cleanup, a few other awards seem timely as well:
1. Kali, for bravery in the face of a big storm last night. She came upstairs (which is much easier for her than going downstairs, which is why she usually doesn't come upstairs, which is okay by Emma because SHE'S upstairs sprawled out over our entire bedroom floor, which makes getting up in the night really exciting because it's dark and she's black, and how we've avoided a broken leg or lamp or something is beyond me) and promptly headed to our closet for the night, head under a blanket. This was a vast improvement over shutting herself in the bathroom and hiding in the tub. Meanwhile, Sami was on my pillow, glued to my head, while Emma had the floor covered in Emma fashion.

Kali, bravery in the face of thunder

2. Ethel, for downsizing 2 sizes of capri pants without even trying!
3. Me, for not being envious of Ethel's downsizing! Well, okay, I'm exaggerating a tiny bit there, but I am happy for her and hope her success is as contagious as Swine Flu! I'm banking on Rita's SparkPeople Healthy Friends team to help me downsize, too.

Now off to the kitchen to clean. Yippee!!!

Thanks Lucy! I love reading your blog, even though I don't comment on every entry. You and Ethel keep it "real" and I like that.

You're welcome!

We're impressed you comment as often as you do, chasing chickens and planting trees and keeping up with ducks and picking up stray turtles, etc., etc., etc....

That award feel very, very comforting this week. Thank-you. I will stick with you, Lucy. Ethel, you, however, are another story. Don't know if I can stick with someone who went down two capri sizes without trying. I am not nearly as generous of spirit as Lucy is. Now, I shall waddle up to my bed and lounge around a bit.

If it makes you feel any better Caution Flag, I won't be packing away the bigger sizes anytime soon. History is likely to repeat itself and I want to be prepared. Plus, it's almost ice cream season.

Caution Flag, there's plenty of room in the Suite for fellow waddlers :)

If I go down 2 sizes in ANYthing, I'll faint.
